GOING BEYOND MONEYLENDING

Singa Credit was interviewed by Channel 8 Singapore on 10th October 2020 on how the pandemic has affected money lending’s industry. (新加坡借贷协会: 遇疫情收入大减 要求延迟还贷者达八成) The industry has faced numbers of issues such as high default rates. Due to the unforeseen COVID-19, many of our customers are unable to make their scheduled repayments on time or none at all. At Singa Credit, we understand their difficulties and we have helped our customers in restructuring their payments without charging late fees.

How the pandemic has affected money lending industry

According to Mr Julian Tan based on the research done by Credit Association of Singapore (CAS), nearly 80 to 90% customers are unable to make their repayments on time across the industry.

Beyond working with Voluntary Welfare organisation (VWOs) closely in helping out with distressed borrowers, Mr Julian Tan has also shared with Channel 8 Singapore about how our company, Singa Credit has used multiple ways to help the ones in difficulty. Firstly, Singa Credit has founded a non-profit initiative called Singa Care. The main purpose of this initiative is to help people to look for jobs, especially our customers who lost their jobs due to COVID-19.

We have successfully helped a few customers to secure jobs through our collaboration with a few cleaning companies to provide both part time and full time work for our customers who have lost their jobs or in need of extra income. Not just our customers, any public members can also apply through our website Singa Credit – Singa Care if they need help in securing a job or having money lending issues.

This is our corporate social responsibility beyond moneylending.

We understand that the economy is not faring well during this pandemic but by going the extra mile in helping individuals to get back on their feet, Singa Credit will get through this difficult times together with you.
